TV report says Pak PM Jamali has resigned
Saturday, June 26 2004 17:12 Hrs (IST)

Islamabad: Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali resigned today (June 26, 2004), Pakistan's ARY television reported.

Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed couldn't immediately confirm the report. "Just wait and see,'' Rashid said. He declined to elaborate.

Speculation has been rife for months that relations between Jamali and the country's military President, Gen Pervez Musharraf, had become strained.

Jamali and Musharraf met earlier today for what Jamali's spokesman said were discussions on enlarging the Cabinet.
