Monday, June 28 2004 20:33 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Sticking to his low-profile image, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has decided that no advertisement of any ministry, department or public sector undertaking will carry his photograph.

The order was issued by Information and Broadcasting Ministry following receipt of a communication from Cabinet Secretariat.

"The Prime Minister has desired that his photograph need not be inserted in the advertisements issued by ministries or departments and public sector undertakings except in the case of events of national importance or on national occasions," the order said.
