LeT plan to attack BSE foiled; 20 militants held Tuesday, June 29 2004 12:12 Hrs (IST)

A Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) module was today (June 29, 2004) busted here with the arrest of 20 militants who police said were planning an attack on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and had links with the four militants killed in an encounter in Ahmedabad on June 15.
The arrested militants were involved in several high-profile killings including that of Maulvi Mushtaq Ahmed, uncle of Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, blasts and suicide attacks, Director General of Police Gopal Sharma told reporters.
The militants were planning an attack on the Bombay Stock Exchange and had links with the four LeT militants killed in an encounter with Gujarat Police, he said.
They were also involved in the killing of DIG Mohammad Amin Bhat earlier this year, Sharma said.
