Musharraf expresses satisfaction over Indo-Pak talks Wednesday, June 30 2004 12:27 Hrs (IST)

Expressing satisfaction over the progress made in the just-concluded Foreign Secretaries talks between Pakistan and India, President Pervez Musharraf today (June 29, 2004) said it is a good beginning and wanted the two countries to sustain the engagement to make the composite dialogue process result oriented.
"It is a good beginning", a Pakistan Foreign Office statement quoted Musharraf saying after hearing a brief of the talks with Indian officials presented by Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar here.
"The President underlined that this process of engagement should be sustained in order to make the composite dialogue result oriented," the statement said.
Khokhar, who led Pakistani delegation in the two-day talks, made a detailed presentation about the discussions held and his meetings with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh and the National Security Advisor J N Dixit.
In his briefing, Khokhar said India and Pakistan had comprehensive talks on "Peace and Security including Confidence Building Measures and Jammu and Kashmir" and the two countries also finalised a calendar of meetings for other agenda items.
Khokhar also reportedly delivered Manmohan Singh's goodwill message to Musharraf during the meeting.
