NDA leaders discuss strategy for Budget session Tuesday, June 29 2004 12:55 Hrs (IST)

Top BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and JD-U (Janata Dal-United) leaders met in Delhi this morning to discuss NDA's (National Democratic Alliance) strategy for the coming Budget session of Parliament.
The meeting being attended among others by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Leader of Opposition L K Advani and senior JD-U leader Nitish Kumar is expected to chalk out a plan to corner the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government on various issues, including that of "tainted ministers" and "detoxification" of NCERT textbooks.
Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh, Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha V K Malhotra, besides senior leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, Pramod Mahajan, Arun Jaitley, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and S S Ahluwalia are attending the meeting at BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu's residence.
The meeting is also likely to discuss a strategy to step up the campaign against the UPA Government's move to replace Governors linked to the BJP, besides repeal of POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act), party sources said.
Earlier, BJP leaders led by Advani had met President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue of removal of Governors.
