Stamp paper scam: CBI sleuths arrest TN DIG

Chennai: The CBI officials took into custody this evening, Mohammed Ali, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, in connection with the multi-crore Telgi stamp paper scam, according to police sources.

The CBI officials have also arrested an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shankar, in connection with the scam, police said.

The residences of both the officials in the city were raided by CBI officials this morning. Details on the outcome of the raids are still awaited.

Both of them are expected to be produced before the court later this evening.
