Thursday, July 1 2004 17:26 Hrs (IST)

Porayar (TN): Asserting Hindutva was not against minorities, VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) International vice-president S Vedantam today (Jul 1, 2004) said that BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) should strive hard to take this message to the minorities.

"Mischief makers have painted Hindutva as being against the minorities whereas it is only related to serving the society based on Hindu dharma," he told reporters at nearby Thirukkadiyur, where he had come on a personal visit.

He said that the BJP was sitting in the Opposition today because its leaders 'failed to fulfil the aspirations of the Sangh Parivar and deviated from Hindutva principles.
