Govt considering law to fight communal violence: Patil Saturday, July 3 2004 19:04 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
Government is considering framing a law to fight communal violence, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said today (July 3, 2004).
The Government would discuss the law with legal and constitutional experts to give it a final shape, he told in New Delhi.
"It will be a law which will really deal with communal violence," he said adding it would cover all aspects like who is instigating or abetting such violence, conspiring or funding such activities.
Patil said the law would also spell out the role of the Centre and the States in dealing with communal outrage.
