Budget session starts stormy with 'tainted issue'
Monday, July 5 2004 11:38 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The Budget session of Lok Sabha today (Jul 5, 2004) began on a stormy note with the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) forcing adjournment of the House for an hour demanding removal of "tainted" Ministers in the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government.

The angry NDA members, however, allowed oath taking of Telugu Desam member K Yerrannaidu who walked with a stick owing to injury sustained in an attack by naxalites.

As soon as Yerrannaidu took oath, BJP chief Vijay Kumar Malhotra raised the issue of presence of "tainted" Ministers in the Manmohan Singh Government.
