New Delhi: The bail application of former Mumbai Police Commissioner R S Sharma was today (Jul 16, 2004) rejected by a Mumbai court in the fake stamp paper scam.

The bail plea of Sharma, who is at present in judicial custody, was opposed by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), which is probing the racket involving prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi.

Sharma is alleged to have shielded Telgi besides helping him spread his network.
