Stamp scam: Telgi judicial custody extended to Jul 31

Pune: The prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi and other accused were produced before the special court today (Jul 17, 2004) which extended their judicial custody till July 31.

The accused were produced before the special court of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) following the expiry of their judicial custody.

They were brought to the court accompanied by officials of CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) amid tight security.

Former police commissioner R S Sharma and ex-inspector general of police Sridhar Vagal, who are also accused in the scam were however not brought to the court.
