J&K Deputy CM escapes another assassination bid

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Mangatram Sharma
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Mangatram Sharma escaped an attempt on his life today (July 19, 2004) in Kapran in South Kashmir.

This is the second attempt on his life in less than a week.

Sharma and two of his Cabinet Ministers escaped unhurt when a bomb planted under a stage they were occupying exploded.

Congress party's chief spokesman in the Valley also was on the stage when the blast took place.
