Ranchi: The Jamtara Superintendent of Police S N Jha today (Jul 19, 2004) said that the police had not yet received arrest warrant against Union Coal Minister Sibu Soren issued on Saturday (Jul 17, 2004) by the Jamtara district court.

''There was a fire incident at the district court in Deogarh yesterday and many judges are busy with that. So I think the arrest warrant may be dispatched only after 2 hrs (IST),'' Jha said.

JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morch) party sources in Ranchi said that a team of lawyers have come from Delhi to challenge the warrant against Soren in Jharkhand High Court.

The fire broke out yesterday (Jul 18, 2004) in the Malkhana of the Deogarh district court where files are stacked. Details of the damage were yet to be acertained, the police in Deograh said.

The High Court has asked the Registrar (Vigilance) to probe the incident.
