30 VHP, Dal activists taken into custody in H'bad

Hyderabad: Over 30 activists of VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) and Bajrang Dal were today (July 20,2004) taken into custody when they tried to stage a demonstration to protest the five per cent reservation for Muslims in the fields of education and employment announced by Andhra Pradesh Government recently.

A group of activists, from VHP, Bajrang Dal and other like-minded organizations, was on its way to Tank Bund to stage a demonstration near Ambedkar statue against the Government decision, when Nampally police took them into custody, police said.
