Natwar meets Kasuri; discusses Kashmir and CBMs Wednesday, July 21 2004 13:50 Hrs (IST)
Islamabad:
India today (Jul 21, 2004) raised its concerns over cross-border terrorism and infiltration with Pakistan as Foreign Ministers of the two countries discussed Kashmir, CBMs (Confidence Building Measures) and a host of other bilateral issues and decided to hold substantive talks on the composite dialogue process in New Delhi on September 5 and 6.
"Cross-border terrorism, infiltration and other issues were discussed," External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh said at a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri after a 90-minute breakfast meeting in New Delhi.
"Hopefully we will have something more to offer when we meet in September," he said.
Describing the talks as "frank and friendly", Kasuri said, "We hope to continue the dialogue and hope we can announce greater progress when we meet in New Delhi."
He said that the two leaders discussed fundamental issues, including Kashmir besides various CBMs like launch of bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
