Last date for filing IT returns extended to Oct 30

New Delhi: The last date for filing return of income has been extended by three months to October 30.

An official release said the Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the due date for filing of returns of income for 2004-05 to October 30 from the previous date of July 31.

The new date for filing returns is applicable for the salaried and non-corporate assesses, whose accounts are not required to be audited under the Income Tax Act.
