Friday, July 23 2004 17:17 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: The model-turned-actress, who has alleged that she was sexually exploited by noted film director Madhur Bhandarkar, today (Jul 23, 2004) claimed she possessed "enough evidence" to show her association with him.

"The statement is funny and Bhandarkar cannot get away with what he did so easily," she said reacting to the director's statement yesterday (Jul 22, 2004) that he did not know her.

"I have cell phone bills and residence documents to prove my association with Bhandarkar," the model, who has lodged a police complaint against the ace-director, said.

She said that the director cannot 'manipulate' things and expressed hope that he would be brought to book soon. The model also expressed satisfaction at the way investigations by police in the case was proceeding.

The model created a flutter in the tinsel town when she lodged a complaint against Bhandarkar yesterday, charging him of rape and threatening to kill her.

She alleged that after doing some films since 1999, she came into contact with Bhandarkar who assured to give her roles in his films and later forced her into a sexual relationship.

The director even promised to marry her but did not keep his promise, the model alleged.

Meanwhile, the director continues to remain in hiding although police said they made several rounds of his residence in suburban Khar and the sets of his ongoing films.

He was also not available for comment as his mobile phone was switched off.
