PM in Bihar to take stock of the flood situation

Patna: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on his arrival in Patna, left for an aerial survey of the flood-hit Darbhanga, Begusarai, Khagaria and Samastipur districts of Bihar.

He was accompanied by Union Ministers Ramvilas Paswan, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Meira Kumar.

According to official sources, Chief Minister Rabri Devi is to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister seeking an assistance of Rs 7200 crore to cope with the damage caused by the floods.

The Prime Minister is in Bihar to take stock of the flood situation in the State.He is also scheduled to interact with representatives of various political parties later in the day before returning to New Delhi in the afternoon.
