'Second miracle to sustain the Sainthood of Mother' Tuesday, July 27 2004 14:17 Hrs (IST)
Guwahati:
Missionaries of Charity (MoC) head Sister Nirmala today (Jul 27, 2004) said that the second miracle needed for declaring Mother Teresa a Saint would not be waived.
''The second miracle that is needed to declare Mother a Saint will not be waived but we are waiting for it to be reported,'' she told reporters in Guwahati."
She said that there was no report of any miracle so far but ''we are hoping for the best''.
Asked whether the miracle had to be from India, she said, ''No, it can be from any part of the world.''
The first miracle was reported from Raigunj in North Bengal Monica Besra, mother's touch and prayers healed who was suffering from cancer.
Sister Nirmala said that the MoC has centres in Iraq and the nuns were working tirelessly to serve the children and adults who had been affected by the disturbances.
''People in Iraq appreciate our work and cooperate with us in whatever way thy can,'' she added.
She said the MoC was not faced with any dearth of fund and people from all parts of the world were generous in their donations as they were when Mother was alive.
