British girl case: Accused Kohli detained till Aug 5 Wednesday, July 28 2004 12:29 Hrs (IST)

A local court today (July 28, 2004) sent Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, prime suspect in the rape and murder of British teenager Hannah Foster, to police custody till August 5, 2004 in connection with a passport forgery case.
Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Punam Ratti ordered the police custody after the Punjab Police had requested for a 14-day remand.
A Punjab Police team had early this morning brought Kohli from Kalimpong here in connection with the case.
Kohli, his parents and brothers stand accused in the fake passport case in Mohali. The police have alleged that Kohli, during his stay in Mohali from March 18th 2004-28th March 2004, 2003, had got a fake passport.
Kalimpong Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Hargobind Singh had given Kohli's custody to Punjab Police in connection with the case on Monday (July 26, 2004).
