Hostage crisis: Talk less and work more, says BJP
Monday, August 2 2004 19:10 Hrs (IST)

Panaji: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (August 2, 2004) "advised" the Government to "talk less and work more" to secure the release of three Indian hostages in Iraq.

"The Government should take all steps to ensure the release and return of all hostages. Nobody should try to make statements. Our advise to the Government is that they should talk less and work more to secure the release of the Indians," party president M Venkaiah Naidu told at the conclusion of BJP's brainstorming session in Panaji.

He said Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee had discussed the hostage issue with leader of opposition L K Advani over telephone.

All the leaders attending the 'chintan baithak' expressed concern over the fate of the hostages, Naidu said.
