Stamp scam: Bhujbal's ex-PA questioned by CBI Tuesday, August 3 2004 17:20 Hrs (IST)
Mumbai:
S K Bankar, ex-private secretary to former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, was today (August 3, 2004) questioned by CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) for his alleged role in helping the syndicate of Abdul Karim Telgi in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam.
He was summoned by CBI this morning and questioning was still on, CBI told in Mumbai.
CBI had yesterday (August 2, 2004) questioned former Director General of Police of Maharashtra S N Malhotra and Former Maharashtra Additional DGP T K Choudhary, in connection with its ongoing probe into the fake stamps scam.
Choudhary was questioned by CBI to probe whether he has made some transfers allegedly at the behest of Bankar and also at the instance of prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) questioned Choudhary, who retired earlier this year as ADGP (CID), thrice before the entire SIT probe was handed over to CBI by the Supreme Court in March.
