Ahmedabad: One of the 'most-wanted' accused in the gruesome Godhra train carnage was arrested in Godhra town today (August 4, 2004) even as mobs resorted to heavy stone throwing on the police which had gone to nab him.

At least five to six policemen received minor injuries in stone pelting forcing them to open fire and burst tear gas shell to disperse the rioting mob that apparently protested his arrest, police sub-inspector of the Anti-Dacoity Squad R G Patel said.

With the arrest of Usman Abdul Gani Coffeewala, one of the 'most wanted' in the carnage, the total number of those arrested in the case has gone to 92, Patel said.
