Wednesday, August 4 2004 18:47 Hrs (IST)

Giridih (Jharkhand): The additional Sessions Judge of Giridih today (August 4, 2004) asked former union minister Sibu Soren to appear before his court on August 9, 2004 in connection with a 1974 murder case.

The Judge, Manoranjan Kavi also committed the case from Chief Judicial Magistrate to the session's court.

On August 2, 2004 Soren's prayer for recalling an arrest warrant served in 1981 by the Chief Judicial Magistrate had been rejected by the Sessions court.

Soren and nine others were accused of murdering a person at Kudko village in Giridih after the victim along with his friends killed a goat.
