State should decide on where to lodge Soren: Court
Friday, August 6 2004 17:23 Hrs (IST)

Jamtara (Jharkhand): The Jamtara District and Sessions Court (Fast Track) today (Aug 6,2004) said it was the responsibility of the State to decide where JMM (Jharkand Mukti Morcha) chief Sibu Soren, now in judicial custody in connection with the Chirrudih massacre case, should be lodged.

"It is the duty of the State to decide where to send the accused. He should be produced before the court on August 13," the Sessions court Judge U N Mishra told the prosecution.

The Judge was passing his order on the rejoinder filed yesterday (Aug 5, 2004) by the counsel of former Union Minister Sibu Soren preferring to stay in Jamtara.

Soon after the order was passed, official sources said the matter would be taken up by the State Home Department.
