Deputy CM to take up BDA scam issue with CM Tuesday, August 10 2004 13:41 Hrs (IST)
Bangalore:
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday (Aug 9, 2004) said he would discuss with Chief Minister N Dharam Singh and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda the issue of initiating action against those involved in alleged irregularities in the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).
He told reporters in Bangalore that he was yet to read the contents of the 29-page letter the JD-S (Janata Dal-Secular) president Deve Gowda had written to Singh seeking enquiry into the land scam and other alleged irregularities of BDA during the previous Congress regime.
Siddaramaiah asserted that there was no going back on the decision to punish those found guilty of irregularities.
Gowda last week shot off a letter to Singh, alleging that financial irregularities had taken place in awarding works by BDA to contractors and sites in developed areas were exchanged under the garb of allotment of "alternative sites", in which he suspected involvement of corruption.
