Bhopal:
Asking school children to dream for generating result-oriented action, President A P J Abdul Kalam today (Aug 10, 2004) said the gap between the urban and rural areas would be bridged in next 10-15 years.
All the urban facilities like roads, electronics and Information Technology would reach the villages in next 10-15 years and there would be no difference between rural and urban areas, Kalam said responding to a question on future of rural development thrown by a student of Government Higher Secondary School in Eintkhedi, 11 km from Bhopal.
The President also replied to a query on black hole by one of the students.
Asking the students to repeat after him, he said, "Dream transforms into talks and talks transform into action."
The students want to become a doctor, an engineer or an astronaut. It's good to aim high and achieve the goals," the first citizen of the country added.
"Today, India has equipped itself with the latest technology which can allow it to explore the space," he said adding these developments have become possible because "we have aimed high".
Governor Balram Jakhar and Chief Minister Uma Bharti accompanied Kalam.
After planting a sapling in the school premises, Kalam took part in a function organised by the students.
