'Incredible India' to attract foreign tourists
New Delhi: The Government today (Aug 17, 2004) said tourism was being promoted under the brand image "Incredible India" to attract foreign tourists into the country.

Tourism Minister Renuka Chaudhury told Rajya Sabha during Question Hour that information is being made online from various metropolitan cities and Varanasi.

Expressing concern over overcharging by taxis and other problems confronting tourists, the minister said besides governmental efforts, people at their level should initiate collective action to address the issue.

The House burst into laughter when Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat jokingly told Congress member Anand Sharma to address his supplementary directly to the minister who was sitting next to him and not the Chair.

"The relations are cordial and there is no need of a middle man," Shekhawat quipped.
