Tiranga Yatra to be final nail in Cong coffin: Uma Monday, August 23 2004 18:36 Hrs (IST)
Bhopal:
Making a scathing attack on Congress President Sonia Gandhi minutes before she was scheduled to tender her resignation to Madhya Pradesh Governor, Chief
Minister Uma Bharti today (Aug 23, 2004) said her 'Tiranga yatra' would be the 'final nail in the coffin' for Gandhi and her party.
"I stopped you (Gandhi) from becoming the Prime Minister. Now you are trying to stop me from hoisting the national flag. The Tiranga yatra would be the final nail in the coffin for you and Congress," Bharti said at a function in Bhopal.
She was addressing BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) workers and leaders at Roshanpura square on way to attend the crucial Legislature Party meeting convened to elect her successor.
Seeking people's support for her campaign, Bharti said the yatra would start after paying tribute at the statue of Rani Chennamma of Kittoor in Hubli and hoisting the national flag there.
