RSS files defamation suit against Arjun Singh

New Delhi: Acting on its threat, RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) today (Sep 2, 2004) filed a defamation suit against HRD Minister Arjun Singh in a Haryana court for suggesting the organisation's involvement in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, RSS sources in New Delhi said.

The case, filed against Singh in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Jagadhri Atul Maria, by the Haryana RSS president Darshan Lal Jain, also lists as respondents N Ram, Editor-in-Chief and publisher of 'The Hindu', M/S Kasturi and Sons, Publishers of the paper and Balachandran, its printer, the sources said.
