Uma case: Revision petition filed in Dharwad court Thursday, September 2 2004 20:15 Hrs (IST)
Dharwad:
A revision petition challenging the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC)'s order refusing to grant time to the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) for submitting written comments on withdrawal of cases against former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti was filed in the Principal District and Sessions Court in Dharwad today (Sep 2, 2004).
The petition filed by the principal public prosecutor contended that they had not been given enough time to argue the case as per the High Court orders and sought time to file the written comments.
It also sought that the APP should be heard before the JMFC passed the final orders on September 4. Principal public prosecutor Vijaykumar S Gunjal filed the petition before Judge Veeranna H Thigadi.
JMFC in Hubli Mohammed Ismail had yesterday deferred to September 4 pronouncement of his final order after the APP decided to challenge its order refusing to grant a week's time for filing written comments on withdrawal of cases against Bharti.
