Manmohan meets Vajpayee ahead of Indo-Pak talks

New Delhi: Ahead of the crucial Indo-Pak talks, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Sep 3, 2004) had a breakfast meeting with his predecessor Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Vajpayee went to the Prime Minister's 7 Race Course Road Residence for a word with him ahead of the talks between External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid M Kasuri, beginning September 5, a PMO spokesman said.

In a bid to evolve political consensus before the bilateral talks, the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government has begun discussions with the Opposition leaders as part of which Natwar Singh met Leader of Opposition L K Advani yesterday.
