Friday, September 3 2004 14:41 Hrs (IST)

Chennai: MDMK (Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) Chief Vaiko today (Sep 3, 2004) declined to comment on the POTA (Prevention of terrorism Act) designated court's refusal to Tamil Nadu Government to withdraw the case against him.

Vaiko, who is on a padayatra near Tindivanam in Villupuram district, told that 'right from the beginning the designated court has taken a stand against me, which I have been experiencing for the past 19 months'.

'I do not want to make any comments on the POTA court's verdict', he said. 'Still, I am confident that justice will ultimately succeed', he said.

Asked whether he would challenge the POTA court's decision in the High Court, Vaiko said his case against detention under POTA was pending before the Supreme Court.
