UPA committed to creation of Telengana: PM

New Delhi: The UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government is committed to the creation of a separate Telengana State carved out Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said in New Delhi today (Sept 4 2004).

"We are committed to the establishment of a separate Telengana State," Singh said addressing his first press conference in New Delhi.

The National Common Minimum Programme has spelt out creation of Telengana and "what we need is to have consultation with all concerned", he said.
