IISc-Aus Universities sign MoU on Nano-Technology Monday, September 6 2004 20:04 Hrs (IST)

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore today (Sep 6, 2004) signed joint research and student exchange programmes on Nano-Technology and biotechnology with two South Australian universities.
The University of South Australia (UniSA) and Flinders University of South Australia signed the MoU with IISc, which have been facilitated by Australian Education International, the international network of the Australian Government's department of education, science and training.
A delegation led by South Australia's Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education Steph Key signed the agreement with IISc director Goverdhan Mehta in Bangalore, an Australian Government statement said.
IISc's agreement with Flinders University is to formalise research links in the areas of micro-fabricated sensors and glyco-dendrimers, while with UniSA, it is in the areas of
bio-materials science, Nano-Technology, chemistry, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering.
"We are delighted to partner with India's premier science research university to embark on joint research and student exchange," Key said.
