Kathmandu: Suspected Maoist rebels today (Sep 10, 2004) exploded a bomb at the American Information Centre in Kathmandu, causing damage to the building but there was no report of any casualty, police said.

This is the first time the rebels have carried out an attack on an American establishment. Maoists have been opposing the US support to the Nepalese Government in its operation against them.
