BJP's Tiranga Yatra flagged off from Karnataka

Hubli: The BJP's (Bharatiya Janata Party) Uma Bharti-led "Tiranga Yatra" from Hubli to Jallianwalla Bagh was flagged off this morning (Sep 10, 2004) by leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L K Advani.

Marking the launch, Advani handed over the National Flag to Uma Bharti at Kittur Chennamma circle.

BJP workers raised slogans "Vande Mataram" and "Bharat Mata Ki jai" in support of Advani and Bharti as she received the Flag.

The 3000-km yatra would pass through Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana in its 16-day journey during which she will address 52 rallies and more than 200 roadside receptions.
