US 'instrumental' for the Indo-Pak dialogue: Powell

Washington: The US has played "a very instrumental role" in helping restart Indo-Pakistan dialogue, US Secretary of State Colin Powell said today (Sep 10, 2004).

"I think we played a very instrumental role in helping the Indians and Pakistanis to begin talking to one another again," he said in an interview.

Powell said, "We have excellent relations with both of those countries and that is not where we started out a few years ago."
