Why only Uma, why not a model or cricket fan: SC
Monday, September 13 2004 14:52 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Taking serious exception to a petition alleging "dishonour" of the national flag during Uma Bharti's 'Tiranga Yatra', the Supreme Court today (Sep 13, 2004) asked why the petition is directed against one politician and does not object to a model wearing it or cricket fans' abuse of it.

The Bench, headed by Justice N Santosh Hegde directed amendment of the petition, saying the Court is for a proper National Flag Code and that all political parties should be made respondents in the petition.
