Hurriyat leader Geelani's secretary shot dead in JK

Srinagar: Pir Hissamuddin, political secretary to hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was today (Sep 15, 2004) shot dead by unidentified gunmen in his house at Bemina locality in Srinagar, official sources said.

The gunmen, whose number could not be ascertained immediately, forced their entry into Hisamuddin's house around 11.30 hrs (IST) and pumped bullets into him before fleeing from the scene, the sources said.

Hissamuddin was a lawyer by profession and hailed from Sopore town of Baramulla district.
