Patna HC grants bail to Pappu Yadav in murder case

Patna: The Patna High Court today (Sep 21, 2004) granted bail to the former MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav in connection with the killing of the CPM (Communist Party Marxist) MLA Ajit Sarkar in Purnea.

Justice R S Garg allowed Pappu Yadav's petition for regular bail in the case. Sarkar was shot dead at Purnea in 1998.

Pappu Yadav had yesterday (Sep 20, 2004) resigned from the primary membership of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to contest bypoll to Madhepura Lok Sabha seat.
