Sushma Swaraj too does not want the top post in BJP! Wednesday, September 22 2004 20:44 Hrs (IST)
Kolkata:
Despite talk that a new face might lead the party in the next Lok Sabha polls, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader Sushma Swaraj today (Sep 22, 2004) said that she was not eyeing the top post in the party since present incumbent M Venkaiah Naidu was elected for a three-year term.
''I am not eyeing the post since my president is already there. Naidu has been unanimously elected for three years. We all support him. I don't know why the media is raking up this issue,'' Swaraj told newsmen in Kolkata in reply to a question.
To another query on her differences with former M P Chief Minister, Swaraj said it was "absolutely baseless".
''There is no difference between us. It is absolutely baseless. The report that we have differences is far from the truth and there is no substance in it,'' Swaraj said.
