RSS chief concerned on rise in Muslim 'infiltrators' Saturday, September 25 2004 18:59 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
Expressing serious concern over the decline in the growth rate of Hindu population as against Muslims, RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) has said the change in the demographic structure posed "danger" to the future of the country.
"It is therefore necessary to consider seriously the reasons behind the attack on national security and population balance and find a solution," RSS chief K S Sudarshan said in an interview to RSS mouthpiece 'Panchajanya'.
He said the rise in the population of Muslim "infiltrators" in areas bordering Bangladesh should be a matter of concern for every nationalist as "no other country can tolerate foreign citizens flooding its bordering areas".
The RSS leaders said he could not understand as to why the country was "tolerating" it.
Observing that the outcome of decline in Hindu population was detrimental for the country, he said wherever there was fall in the number of Hindus, either there was a revolt against India or that part seceded from the country.
Sudarshan called upon Hindus to oppose any "conspiracy" to make India a non-Hindu country and demand a uniform civil code so that no one got the right to say that producing more children was as per the canons of his or her religion. A small family norm for a person with limited income is aimed at imparting better education and ensuring economic development, he explained.
The RSS leader said it was unfortunate that the Government was trying to divide the country with the help of census statistics and bring the census commission under controversy.
