Cong responsible for present J&K situation: Rajnath Monday, September 27 2004 21:33 Hrs (IST)
Dhanbad:
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) national general secretary Rajnath Singh today (Sep 27, 2004) held Congress responsible for the post-Independence situation in Jammu and Kashmir and said its inept handling was complicating the matter.
After Independence the then Government lacked national vision over the Jammu and Kashmir issue as otherwise the problem would have been not existed today, he said inaugurating BJP Jharkhand State executive committee meet in Dhanbad.
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on his part, had tactfully handled the issue at the international as well as the domestic level, he said.
Singh, also the party in-charge of Jharkhand, said cultural nationalism was the main inspirational resource of BJP. ''A country can't survive for long after discarding its traditional culture. Unfortunately Congress has started insulting it.''
He criticised the Congress-RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) electoral alliance and alleged that the axis was a danger to the country as ''one party was the symbol of corruption while another was known for black-marketing.''
''Their (Cong-RJD) design will be exposed in the State election,'' he said adding BJP's ultimate political aim was not gaining power, but to see a strong and developed country.
''A party with solid leadership, inspirational ideology and active organisation can guide the country in the right direction,'' he added.
