PM confident of working together with Left parties

Geneva: Notwithstanding criticism from Left parties, key allies in the Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government, over certain Government policies, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Sep 27, 2004) said he saw no problem in dealing with them and had "great faith in their inherent patriotism".

"I am very confident that despite different perspectives that we may have on how we look at various issues, that when the chips are down, we will be able to work out a programme of action which meets the challenges of our times," the Prime Minister said.

Singh was taking to mediamen on board his special aircraft 'Tanjore' on way from New York to Geneva for a stopover before returning home Monday night (Sep 27, 2004).
