Godhra probe panel seeks info from general public

New Delhi: The Justice U C Banerjee Committee, inquiring into the cause of the fire in the Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002, has sought public help to elicit information on the incident.

The Committee has issued a notification in this regard "inviting members of the public to come before it and provide any information, which may be relevant to the incident of fire on Sabarmati Express", an official release said in New Delhi today (Sep 28, 2004).

The Committee, assisted by three experts K Balakesari, S K Khanna and S K Dheri, has already started functioning from Sep 10, 2004 with headquarters at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi.

Members of the public willing to assist the Committee may contact Sanjiv Garg, Secretary, and High Level Committee on Godhra Incident on e-mail secylcg@rb.railnet.gov.in.
