Lucknow: Three video cassettes containing footage of demolition of the Babri Masjid and speeches of some senior BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leaders, including former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, were screened by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today (Oct 6, 2004).

Justice Y R Tripathi, who is hearing the revision petition filed against the order of the special Rae Bareli court of September 19, 2003 by BJP leaders Murli Manohar Joshi and some others, screened one video cassette pertaining to the incidents of December 5, 1992 and two cassettes of December 6, 1992 in the presence of the counsels of the concerned parties.

Earlier, the court fixed November 9 for further hearing of the criminal revision petitions filed by Joshi, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti, BJP leader Vinay Katyar, VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) leaders Ashok Singhal and Vishnu Hari Dalmiya challenging the Rae Bareli court orders for framing of charges against them in the Ayodhya demolition case.

The Rae Bareli court had discharged Advani in the case but directed the other accused persons to appear before it for framing of charges.

One Haji Mehboob had also filed a criminal revision challenging the Rae Bareli court order discharging Advani in the matter, which had been clubbed along with the other revisions.
