Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued notices to Cricket captain Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar for promoting Pepsi drink in an advertisement depicting child labour.

A division bench comprising of Justice B Sudharshan Reddy and Justice K C Bhanu yesterday (Oct 7, 2004) also issued notices to Cricket Board, Pepsi, Sony Entertainment Television and Advertisements Standards Council of India returnable on October 11.

The petitioner's Counsel A Sudharshan Reddy contested that the advertisement which depicts a child carrying the Pepsi drink and offering to the Indian team amounts to child labour and violation of Articles 21, 24 and 45 of the Constitution and demanded action against all those responsible for this.
