Laloo's relatives unleashing terror in Bihar: BJP Friday, October 8 2004 16:16 Hrs (IST)
Patna:
BJP (Bharatiya Janata party) vice-president S K Modi today (Oct 8, 2004) accused close relatives of Railway Minister Laloo Prasad, including his brothers-in-law and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) MPs Sadhu Yadav and Subhash Yadav of unleashing a reign of terror in Gopalganj district in Bihar and demanded registration of case against them.
Talking to reporters in Patna, Modi alleged that the Sadhu-Subhash duos were also illegally grabbing land in Gopalganj, their native district.
Shiv Prasad Choudhury, father of Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Subhash's brother-in-law Pappu Yadav, who is also involved in the Atul Kumar kidnapping case, have grabbed prime land at Mirganj, Line Bazaar and Gopalganj town, he said.
''Complaints of businessmen whose plots have been forcibly and illegally captured by the powerful family are not being entertained by the police, who is functioning as a mere stooge,'' he said.
Laloo Prasad's relatives and their henchmen had captured a plot of a businessman Kedar Prasad at Mirganj and one belonging to Gopal Bhagat at Line Bazaar and a plot near national highway at Baji Chowk in Gopalganj. Besides, a couple of plots of journalists too were grabbed by them, he said.
Modi urged Director General of Police Narayan Mishra to instruct the Gopalganj authorities to lodge criminal cases against Laloo Prasad's relatives for illegal and forcible occupation of such land.
He also asked the DGP to take effective steps to ensure peace in the district.
