Case against Laloo for violating campaign deadline
Friday, October 8 2004 10:49 Hrs (IST)

Aurangabad (M'rashtra): District officials in Aurangabad have registered a case against Union Railway Minister Laloo Prasad for allegedly campaigning beyond the 10 pm deadline last night (Oct 7, 2004).

District officials said the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader was campaigning till 10:07 pm while campaigning is allowed only upto 10 pm.

Reacting to the action of the district authorities, the Railway Minister denied he was campaigning beyond the stipulated period.

Stating that he does not wear a watch, the RJD leader said, "Maybe the watch of the district authorities was running fast."

The Minister maintained that he stopped campaigning immediately after 10 pm when others pointed out that the deadline had arrived.
